So.I have way too much time on my hands.so I use both versions. And development is like watching paint dry.
QUICKEN FOR MAC 2017 INVESTMENTS SOFTWARE
But it's not a polished complete software by any means.
QUICKEN FOR MAC 2017 INVESTMENTS MAC
Five years.Ĭould I use Quicken Mac if push came to shove? Sure. But despite this being the NUMBER ONE requested feature, the geniuses at Quicken Inc can't seem to get this done.since 2015 mind you. That would get me at least to 90% of what I think Quicken Mac should be. If I could just select the cash flow accounts (checking and credit cards) and not select all the other accounts, I would have one side of the transfer and BINGO.I'm in business. But a simple drop down selection box to select which accounts to include in the budget seems to me to be an unbelievably easy fix to this. I can't account for my retirement income from my investments because they are a transfer from an investment account to my checking account.and they zero each other out. This means that I can't get my mortgage principal to be budgeted because it's a transfer from checking to the mortgage liability account.and they zero each other out. Why? Because it has never allowed you to include or exclude accounts. Completely.Ģ Quicken Mac has beyond a doubt the worst thought out Budget tool. These aren't available in the Mac version. So a couple of things that keep me using Quicken Windows.ġ I use the Tax Planner and Lifetime Planners all the time. Perfect again.actually even better in that it was now lightening fast. After three chats with support, I finally got a representative who had me export the file into a. Downloading of transactions took what used to be seconds now took over five minutes to complete.

When my versions of Quicken 2017 (Windows and Mac) were sunsetted and had online services ended, I bit the bullet and purchased a 27 month subscription from Amazon. And towards the end of 2019, they started improving the report engine so at least I could include or exclude transfers in cash flow reports. The initial reporting engine was still horrendous, but I could see very slow improvements being released. Got updated to Quicken Mac 2017, and there were improvements. A complete mess either way and took me weeks to get it up and running with accurate balances, albeit with broken transfers.ĭidn't matter. qif files into the Mac version and just started over with all my investment accounts. Converting my data from Windows to Mac was a mess.and I basically wound up importing all my banking accounts as individual.

It was missing a zillion Windows features and was a really poor product in my opinion.

The interface, although fresh and clean, is sophomoric and basically made for idiots, I thought. So.for a while I beta tested Quicken Mac 2016.and they were kind enough to "gift" me a copy to help them test the product. However, after I retired, I'm thinking.why the heck do I need to purchase Parallels and have Quicken Windows as the only Windows software I ever use?

I purchased a Mac Book around 2010.but my business professional software was still Windows.so I was stuck with Quicken for Windows and used and still use Parallels as a virtual Windows machine. That's why Quicken Windows looks like it's from the 1990's. To my knowledge, it's never been re-written.just added on to.

And each yearly version added features and conveniences and minor tweaks to the user interface.so the entire code has roots going back that far. So.remember this.Quicken Windows has been based on that GUI since Day 1 when it became a Windows product. And there was no Quicken Home and Business version then.no tags.no scheduled reminders. I started my business in 1979 and pretty much did all my bookkeeping, paying bills, tracking my investments, even did my payroll with Quicken Windows 4 or 5 and beyond (not Quicken Windows 1994.but actually Quicken Windows 4).

I have used Quicken Windows since is was Managing Your Money back in the DOS days.and of course moved up to the Windows version. OK, another long diatrabe post in response:įirst a bit of background.
